Meet the Founder: The Story Behind The Flora Rituals

What if we spent more time asking why we become unwell—not only what we can do once symptoms appear?

That question changed the way I think about wellness.

For the past 16 years, I’ve worked as a registered nurse in surgical care, including the last several years as a Registered Nurse First Assist. I’ve spent much of my career in the operating room, where I’ve witnessed firsthand what skilled clinicians, modern medicine, and evidence-based care can accomplish.

That experience gave me enormous respect for medicine.

But it also made me curious about everything that happens before we ever need it.

I began noticing how easily caring for ourselves gets pushed to the bottom of the list. We care for our families. We show up for work. We manage responsibilities, schedules, and everyone else’s needs—often until exhaustion feels normal and we can barely remember what it felt like to feel truly well.

I knew that feeling, too.

And somewhere along the way, I began asking a different question:

What if wellness didn’t have to begin when something went wrong?

That question led me deeper into the foundations of well-being—the way we nourish ourselves, how we sleep and move, the relationships we cultivate, the stress we carry, and the small choices we make every day.

It also brought me back to something humans have turned to for generations: plants, herbs, food, and ritual.

I became fascinated by the place where traditional plant wisdom and modern science meet—and by the idea that wellness could feel beautiful, approachable, and woven into everyday life rather than becoming one more thing on our to-do lists.

That is where The Flora Rituals began.

The Flora Rituals isn’t about choosing nature instead of medicine.

It’s about paying attention to the space that exists long before the operating room, the prescription, or the diagnosis—a space where nourishment, education, prevention, connection, and intentional living can matter.

It’s about becoming an active participant in your own well-being while working alongside the healthcare professionals you trust.

And I believe that sometimes, meaningful change begins much more simply than we expect.

With what you put in your glass.

A morning matcha before the rest of the house wakes up.

A botanical mocktail shared around a table with friends.

An herbal infusion steeping while the day finally grows quiet.

Five minutes that belong entirely to you.

These things may seem small.

But small choices, repeated with intention, become rituals.

And our rituals quietly shape the way we live.

The Flora Rituals is my invitation to become curious about your well-being again—to reconnect with nature, learn about the plants that have been part of human wellness traditions for centuries, and create simple rituals that make caring for yourself feel less like another obligation and more like a way of life.

So instead of waiting until something feels wrong, perhaps we can begin with a different question:

What does my body need to thrive?

And maybe the answer begins with one small ritual.

Rooted in nature. Informed by science. Created with intention.
